Counselling and Training

About Me

I started my path towards counselling in 1997/8 by taking the Foundation in Core Process Psychotherapy at Karuna Institute in Devon.  I hold a Diploma in Adlerian Counselling, which is my main theoretical approach.

I counsel from home, near Lampeter.

Having travelled the world and lived many years abroad, I have a broad life experience which enriches my ability to communicate with people, particularly those who find it difficult to articulate their feelings. I believe I can offer my clients a deep understanding and can help them move into more appropriate and comfortable life choices.

I originally studied music and have taught, conducted choirs and orchestras and performed as a singer, both solo and in top UK choirs.  I have a Graduate Diploma in Music and am an ALCM.

Working as a qualified trainer in adult education led me to expand my interest in personal development and life skills.  I have run courses in change management; life changes after redundancy; communications and counselling as well as pre-release courses in a prison.  I have a City and Guilds certificate in Adult Education and an Adlerian Teaching Certificate and have been teaching counselling for the Adlerian Centre of Wales since 2006, both in Narberth and Lampeter.

For information about counselling training offered by the Adlerian Society of Wales, please see the links page.

I am a qualified Supervisor, and work from home or within organisations.

I am a member of BACP; also member of the Adlerian Society of Wales since 2004, and of ASIIP (The Adlerian Society (UK) and the Institute for Individual Psychology).

"There is a courage of happiness as well as a courage of sorrow." (Alfred Adler)
